Climate Positive
We take responsibility of our actions on the environment, that is why we must implement a strategy that produces immediate and tangible benefits for the environment today and culminate into a carbon neutral future.
Following the recommended approach set out by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Artistic Milliners is the first and only company from Pakistan to sign the UN Business Ambition for 1.5°C under the “Race to Zero” global campaign – led by the High-Level Climate Champions for Climate Action . We have set climate targets across our operations and value chains, limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and reaching net-zero emissions no later than 2050.
Recognizing the critical need for cities, regions, companies and investors from around the globe to help implement the Paris Agreement and accelerate the transformative change needed to reach greenhouse gas (GHG) emission neutrality (i.e. climate neutrality) in the second half of the twenty-first century, Artistic Milliners supports the vision outlined in the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action. We became signatory to the UNFCCC Fashion Charter for Climate Action in 2020.
Circularity -
Currently, only 1% of all textile production is made using recycled materials. We’ve embarked on a mission to change that by moving towards circularity and are the World’s first Cradle to Cradle Gold certified company. We are also the first denim mill to develop Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) Gold Certified Denim Fabric in partnership with G-Star RAW and developer of Crystal Clear”” clean indigo technology together with DyStar® and G-Star RAW.
Crystal Clear 3.0 is our cleanest and salt-free indigo dyeing process. The hallmark of this C2C Gold certified dyeing is the ‘less water dyeing technique’ leading to 70% water saving and zero liquid discharge of hazardous chemicals.
Water Recycling -
Artistic Milliners is recycling 85% of water across its facilities, resulting in water saving of 2 million gallons per day.
Our latest venture of USGBC LEED Platinum certified factory, we have designed Smart Laundry where all washing machines installed use less water compared to conventional machines. These technologies help us save as much as 95% of water in the wash process.
Artistic Milliners is collaborating with WWF Pakistan for Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) standard implementation in Karachi. Our target is to achieve AWS certification by 2021, fundamentally expanding our responsibility from internal water management to collective action stewardship. We took the initiative to organize the 1st AWS Stakeholders Meeting in Karachi, introducing the key stakeholders to the AWS agenda and the need to take collective action. The event successfully propogated the concept of water stewardship and shared water risks within the catchment to achieve improved compliance of major water users to environmental standards. It was attended by the representatives from the Industry, Government, NGOs and local community. Artistic Milliners aims to install clean drinking water RO plants in Landhi and Korangi Residential communities

We have also signed up for 3rd party Energy Optimization programs such as IFC PaCT (Partnership for Cleaner Textiles) and ILO ILES (International Labour and Environmental Standards). These programs have resulted in significant energy savings at our facilities, allowing us to offset GHG emissions by 22.6%.
Solar Energy -
We are in the process of installing 3.7 MW of solar panels across different mills and factories. The new investment of Artistic Milliners will increase the solar panels installed; these will provide for more than 50% of energy requirement of our green factories.
Laser Finishing -
Laser tech at Artistic Milliners is a state-of-the-art finishing process. It is a major leap from the traditional resource intensive finishing process. Laser finishing uses negligible amount of water and zero chemicals to give a faded look to the jean, it’s not just innovative but also environment friendly and fits right into our Industry 4.0 agenda. Our laser machines process 45,000+ jean per day.
